Tournament Regognition Award 2025
Wiesbaden Tennis Open Honoured with International ITF Award
This places the WTO among a select group of tournaments worldwide recognised for outstanding organisation, high professional standards, and an exceptional player experience.
This award is anything but routine. Only around 5 to 10 percent of all ITF tournaments worldwide receive this distinction. It is based on a comprehensive evaluation process in which the ITF assesses how consistently a tournament meets its high organisational standards. Among the key criteria are the quality of operations, venue facilities, medical support, and the overall on-site experience for players. Only tournaments achieving more than 90 percent of the required standards are granted the award.
For the Wiesbaden Tennis Open, this honour is therefore a very special recognition. It confirms that the tournament not only delivers at a high sporting level, but is also organised behind the scenes to an international top standard.
An Award for Passion, Quality and Hospitality
Receiving this special recognition is a strong signal for the Wiesbaden Tennis Open – and at the same time a great acknowledgement of everyone involved in delivering the tournament with dedication, passion and professionalism.
An international tennis event of this calibre is defined not only by the matches on court. It also depends on smooth operations, strong infrastructure, short distances, professional support, and an atmosphere in which players, teams and guests alike feel welcome. These are exactly the qualities the ITF highlights with the Tournament Recognition Award.
The award shows that the Wiesbaden Tennis Open have established themselves as a fixture on the international women’s tennis calendar – and stand for a tournament experience that leaves a lasting impression far beyond the sport itself.
Top-Class Tennis in Wiesbaden
The 2025 Wiesbaden Tennis Open took place from 28 April to 4 May 2025 at the T2 Sports Health Club. As a W100 tournament on the ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour, and with USD 100,000 in prize money, the event is one of the most significant women’s tournaments in Germany.
The tournament was also a sporting success at the highest level:
Hungary’s Anna Bondár claimed the singles title, while Schibek Qulambajewa and Darja Semeņistaja won the doubles competition.
A Strong Statement for Wiesbaden and for Tennis
This international recognition is not only a success for the tournament itself, but also for Wiesbaden as a sporting venue. It underlines the importance of the Wiesbaden Tennis Open within both the German and international tournament calendar and highlights the ambition and quality behind the event.
The WTO stands for top-class sport, an international atmosphere and professional tournament organisation at the highest level. The ITF Tournament Recognition Award is a wonderful confirmation of that achievement – and at the same time a strong motivation for the future.
